High Shear Mixer

The LabTechniche High Shear Mixer is a semi-automatic mobile unit, ideal for creating emulsions from oil and water based mixes.

These mixers feature a mixing head mounted on a mobile stand with painted hydraulic cylinder (manually operated), and a control panel that is IP55 rated. All contact parts are manufactured from 316L grade stainless steel, with the remainder of the construction being 304 grade.

As standard this unit will operate at 2,900rpm.

Mobile Polypropylene Vessels from LabTechniche

LabTechniche can supply a range of mobile polypropylene vessels for products that cannot come into contact with stainless steel.

These vessels have welded seams and are supplied with drop on lids. An external stainless steel band can be added with two carrying handles to aid moving when empty. A mobile frame set on four castors (two braked) is an optional extra.

Propeller or high shear mixers can also be supplied, and the vessels are available in various sizes.

Stainless Steel Drink Mixers

LabTechniche drink mixers are ideal for any application where high-speed mixing is required. They are used in coffee shops, cafes, diners and restaurants throughout the UK, and are often used as ‘showpiece’ milkshake mixers.

Our stainless steel drink mixers are robust and reliable, and external surfaces are generally stainless steel to help you keep them clean and looking good.

The mixers are available as single or twin units, and the single unit comes in two versions: one for standing on a counter and the other for fixing to a wall. All the mixers are simple to operate: a powerful motor is automatically switched on when the beaker is in position and stops when the beaker is removed. They are available in 240 volt and 12 volt DC versions (240 volt as standard, 12 volt to special order): each 240 volt version is fitted with a safety plug and simply plugs in to a suitable socket and is ready to go.

We also offer servicing and a comprehensive range of spares for our mixers – please ask for more information. Details of our “Keep You Mixing!” service, which helps you to maintain revenue if a mixer develops a fault, are also available on request.

Ultrasonic homogenizer is a special and unique product which is applicable for laboratory and small scale manufacturing applications

The device is suitable for developing  and performing scientific research.

It has 20 kHz working frequency with adjustable power range between 0-1200 W.

It operates in pulse mode and total duration of reaction is also adjustable. In addition, it is equipped with thermometer which is for regulating the temperature of the reaction chamber.

How the Ultrasonic Homogenizer  Works

The ultrasonic power supply (generator) converts 50/60 Hz voltage to high frequency electrical energy. This alternating voltage is applied to disc-shaped ceramic piezoelectric crystals within the converter, causing them to expand and contract with each change of polarity.

These longitudinal vibrations are amplified by the probe (horn) and transmitted into the liquid as ultrasonic waves consisting of alternate expansions and compressions. The pressure fluctuations pull the liquid molecules apart creating micro-bubbles (cavities), which expand during the negative pressure excursions, and implode violently during the positive excursions.

As the bubbles collapse, millions of shock waves eddies and extremes in pressures and temperatures are generated at the implosion sites. Although this phenomenon, known as cavitation, lasts but a few microseconds, and the amount of energy released by each individual bubble is minimal, the cumulative amount of energy generated is extremely high.

The high shear energy delivered is at maximum near the tip of the probe, and decreases as the distance away from the tip increases.

Compared to mechanical homogenizers, ultrasonic processing is fast and highly reproducible.

Probes are practically self cleaning, and by virtue of their design, account for negligible sample losses. When used with environmentally safe aqueous cleaning solutions, the Homogenizer becomes a powerful cleaning tool, capable of removing the most tenacious contaminants from normally inaccessible locations. Unlike ultrasonic baths, which dissipate the vibrational energy over a large area, the Homogenizer probe focuses the energy to create a concentrated, high intensity cleaning zone.

Stainless Steel Water Jacketed Vessels

The LabTechniche range of stainless steel water jacketed vessels are available in 316 stainless steel with a 304 stainless steel 1/4 bar low pressure water jacket.

They are suitable for use with a non pressurised water supply with hot or cold water for heating or cooling. These vessels are supplied with a 1/4″ BSP water inlet at the bottom of the jacket and a 1/2″ BSP outlet at the top. They have crevice and pit free interiors and are polished throughout.
